What to Expect?

When you arrive for your appointment, you will meet privately with a State Licensed Addictions Counselor who understands problems with alcohol, prescription drugs, illicit drugs, and or gambling. Our counselors are highly experienced and certified by the State of Kansas to provide DUI Evaluations.

The counselor we assign for you will lead you through an Assessment based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, as well as the SASSI and other testing instruments.

Accurate Assessment for Your Success

The Evaluation process will accurately determine your individual needs. If services are recommended, a Level of Care will be determined. Sims-Kemper is locally owned and licensed by the State of Kansas to provide Assessments, Education, Level 1 Outpatient treatment, and Level 2 Intensive Outpatient treatment.

When appropriate, individuals are referred for medical care and or mental health services.

If your needs cannot be met at Sims-Kemper Clinical Counseling & Recovery Services, our counselors are familiar with programs for referral, including Residential substance treatment in Kansas and elsewhere.

Primary, Chronic Illness: Diagnosable and Treatable

Our purpose is to help individuals and families who are experiencing problems with alcohol, other substances, and or gambling. Sims-Kemper addresses these problems as a primary, chronic illness that is diagnosable and treatable.

Addiction can be managed successfully to prevent relapse. The goal of treatment is to equip our clients with the skills and tools needed for healthy living in recovery.
